The aim of this project is to develop and test an airfoil for a Vertical Axis Wind Turbine that is designed to reduce flow separation. Flow separation occurs when the airflow detaches
from the surface of an airfoil. When flow separation occurs on VAWT blades, there is reduced lift and increased pressure drag on the airfoil. This reduces the power efficiency of the VAWT and if severe enough, can cause dynamic stall.
